The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) by late 2010 will complete works on transfer of telecommunications nodes of Sharur and Sadarak regions to the NGN - Next Generation Network, the ministry said today.
According to the ministry, today the Nakhchivan city has completed the installation of a central management system, and commissioned telephone exchanges of the new generation with total capacity of over 87,000 units.
As of Oct. 1, the ministry completed and commissioned automatic telephone exchanges of the new generation in Babak settlement (with number capacity of 1,024 units) and the Nehram village (with number capacity of 1,760 units).
At present, NAR's telecommunications sector and postal services consist of 111 post offices and 95 ATEs.
