Further formation of the software market in Azerbaijan depends on the development of legislation on protection of copyrights, Oracle sales representative Bakhtiyar Aliyev said Thursday.

According to Aliyev, the issue will soon find its solution, which in turn will have a positive impact on the further development of the software market in Azerbaijan.
"Oracle supports a legislative framework that protects intellectual property rights in Azerbaijan. We are working on licensing our solutions through a local partner network, which today is the only effective and legitimate way to use our products for commercial purposes. Licensing provides not only the issuance of the document certifying the authenticity of one system or another, here it is also about ensuring user with free upgrades of systems, as well as the availability of support from Oracle, which is necessary for the effective administration and development of our solutions," said Aliyev.

The software market in Azerbaijan is complex and actively develops. According to the representative of Oracle, over the next five years, it is expected to complete the transition from paper to electronic document management system that is irreversible in view of the future growth of applications and the amount of data that need to be processed, reserved and ensured with safety. Also one of the key issues affecting the transition to electronic document management systems will be the increase of the population, as well as projects implemented by different sectors of the economy, etc.

"We work closely with the public sector. Today we are active in all state agencies - from working on the licensing of existing platforms to the delivery of ERP and CRM. This set of solutions enables the most effectively manage resources.

Also at today practically the entire financial system of Azerbaijan is working on technologies of Oracle. There are a number of projects implemented at the Central Bank, Ministry of Finance, projects on e-government, said Aliyev.
