The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry presented three global project at the Twenty-Fourth IPMA Challenges and Opportunities World Congress this year.

The IPMA Congress was held in Istanbul on Nov. 1-3.

Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov presented the development of the "East-West" transnational information superhighway construction project, the launch of Azerbaijan's first national Azerspace telecommunications satellite and the building of a regional innovation zone.

Abbasov also held talks with his Turkish counterpart, Transport Minister Binali Yildirim, IPMA Chairman Miles Shepherd and the management of the Turktelecom, Turkcell and Karel telecommunications companies.

The annual IPMA congress is one of the world's most important project management events. The congresses have passed in cities such as Helsinki, Rome, Krakow, and Shanghai.

The main task of this year's congress was to identify changes that must be made to resolve problems and realize opportunities created by the new realities of the global economy.
