Number of users of social networking site Facebook in Azerbaijan hit 261,400 people, Facebakers Research Company's report for Nov.5, which was published on the organization's website, says.
Over the past month the number of the social networking site's users in Azerbaijan increased by 9.2 percent.
Azerbaijani Facebook segment ranks 96th in the attendance rating. Some 3.15 percent of the Azerbaijani population use Facebook, which is 0.27 percent higher compared to early month. The percent of users of social networking site among the total number of Internet users in Azerbaijan also increased by 0.6 percent and amounted to 7.09 percent.
Some 63 percent of the total number of users account for men.
The first place in the number belongs to visitors aged 18 to 24 (50 percent), nearly half are visitors in the age category 25 to 34 (26 percent), and the audience aged 35 to 44 (nine percent) ranks the third.
Six per cent fall to the age categories of 35-44 and 13-15, two percent fall to users in the age category of 45-54, only one percent of users fall to the age category of 55-64 and above 65.
On the number of users in the social networking site Facebook Azerbaijan leaves behind such CIS countries as Latvia (214,380 users), Belarus (175,380), Kazakhstan (175,080), Moldova (133,300), Armenia (100,880), Uzbekistan (100,880), Kyrgyzstan (30,800), Tajikistan (9,660) and Turkmenistan (6,980).
The top five countries, according to Facebakers, include the United States, Indonesia, UK, Turkey and France.
The total number of Facebook users is 574,458,400 people.
Facebook social networking site has started its work February 4, 2004. At present, services are available in 60 languages, including in the Azerbaijani language.
