Azerbaijan's initial provider Delta Telecom has started to promote products and services based on the WiMAX standard on the social networking site Facebook, Delta Telecom official website reported today.
The appearance of the Delta Telecom page on one of the most popular social networks will allow the website users to get acquainted with the company's services, follow the news, comment on news and articles, and view pictures and videos. The page allows users to share their experiences of exploitation of products and services, and company, as well to expand business opportunities and present new ideas.
Delta Telecom Company had launched commercial exploitation of WiMAX wireless Internet services in Jan. 2010. The service is presently available in Baku, Sumgait and Absheron Peninsula and, after the optimization works coverage zone of the network, will be expanded at the regional level.
The cost of the Internet access via WiMAX technology varies from 10 to 100 manat. User devices or WiMAX modems, are available directly from the company. Data transfer rate in the Mobile WiMAX network reaches 2 Gbit/s.
The 2.6 GHz frequency is used to set up wireless access to WiMAX. The WiMAX Delta Telecom network is based on standard 802.16e, also known as Mobile WiMAX, and intended for mobile devices moving at speeds up to 100 km/h.
