Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 25 / Trend H.Valiyev /

The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry has decided to unify rates on inter-operator connections of wireless CDMA with GSM, the ministry said.

The rate of the connection determines the amount that one operator pays to another per minute conversation outside the subscriber's home network.

Today, in Azerbaijan the rate on such a connection (the value of the final minute) among mobile operators in the GSM standard is 0.02 manat.

The main goal of a unified rate on connections to CDMA operators is to create equal conditions for development.

Currently, the total number of mobile subscribers in Azerbaijan is 9.1 million. In 2010, the penetration rate of mobile communication reached 100 percent in Azerbaijan.

Three operators of GSM standard (Azercell, Bakcell, Azerfon) and six operators of CDMA standard (Aztelekom, "Baku Telephone Communications", Ultel, Catel, Aztrank and Naxtel) operate on the Azerbaijani mobile communication market.
