Azerbaijan's network infrastructure to be used in transit traffic from Asia to Europe

Iran's TIC (Telecommunication Infrastructure Company), the Omani Omantel, Russian Rostelecom and international C&W signed a quadripartite agreement on the establishment of a consortium of transit traffic between Asia and Europe, the MEHR agency reported.

Under the contract, the transit traffic will be carried out through Oman to Iran, then to Azerbaijan, Russia, and to Frankfurt (Germany). The capacity of highways will be 540 Gbps, which will involve 3,456 mainline flows STM-1 level with a prospect to increase to 20,480 streams STM -1.
Today, Gulf Bridge International (GBI) and the TIC are working on laying undersea fiber-optic cable line connecting Iran and the Persian Gulf region with India and the Far East via the eastern route to Europe - via the western route.
The project to lay a submarine cable line GBI and TIC will provide allow to connect the network infrastructure of Central Asian countries, including Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, etc.
