Next week, the official presentation of a center issuing digital signatures will be held in Baku, Deputy Communications and IT Minister Elmir Velizade said today.
A digital signature will be a platform for e-commerce development in Azerbaijan.
The main advantage of digital signatures is a full transfer of business relations and ties into an electronic format.
The digital signature issuance infrastructure in Azerbaijan is completely ready for operation.
The project is implemented in accordance with the law "On electronic signature and electronic document" by the consortium of companies Ultra, Azerin and Microsoft local office.
Azerbaijan plans to use three centers for issuing digital signatures, one of which will lead the project and two of which will carry out maintenance of public and private entities.
An electronic signature is a sequence of symbols received through the transformation of the source document through special software.
Getting a digital signature ensures the authorship and contents of documents exchanged by an organization through the Internet. It is impossible to forge an e-signature. The documents, certified by digital signature, and a signed document, are recognized as equivalent.
