Bakcell new chief appointed

Richard Shearer has been appointed the new chief executive director of Bakcell.
Inekke Botter occupied this post earlier.
Shearer has a great experience of work at large telecommunications companies.
Earlier, Shearer occupied the post of general director of Malaysia's DiGi Telecom, and Bulgaria's Empower Interactive Group and BTC Mobile EOOD (Vivatel).
He was also the commercial director of the UK T-Mobile and a member of the Board of Telkomunikacja Polska SA, the biggest telecommunications company in Central and Eastern Europe.
The core objective of the management change will be to increase the number of clients at the expense of new innovational services and increased quality at affordable prices, Bakcell reported.
Bakcell has been operating since 1994 and was the first company providing cellular link services in Azerbaijan. Owing to considerable investments in its network, Bakcell coverage now spreads over more than 95 percent of population of 82 percent of territory of the country. The number of Bakcell clients has reached to 2.5 million.
