Dilmanc project will introduce a new system of automatic translation, Dilmanc project manager Abulfat Fatullayev said.
He said that the second version of the system, which will be available in mid-May, will be more advanced and will allow translating from Russian into Azerbaijani and vice versa, as well as from English into Azerbaijani and vice versa.
At present, the dictionary base of the statistical automatic translator is approximately 1.6 million sentences.
"We started using a new approach in a system of automatic translation," he said. "It deals with building a hybrid system that is based on grammar and spelling. The hybrid approach will be applied in the translation from Azerbaijani into Russian and English and vice versa. The initial version, which is now available in the resource translate.az, was created on this basis. We intend to combine the statistical method with a hybrid one. It must positively affect the quality of translation".
