The Azerbaijani Education Ministry has made a proposal to make a pilot launch of an eTwinning school partnership project in 10 schools, Education Ministry's Training and Monitoring Division Director Ramil Suleymanov told Trend.

Suleymanov said a list of schools will be presented to the EU after additional requirements will be received regarding the parameters to be met by schools.

This week, the EU presented to Azerbaijan the primary criteria that must be met by schools to participate in the eTwinning project.

According to tje criteria, schools should be technically equipped and have Internet access, and teachers should be well-trained.

The final decision on Azerbaijan's participation in this project will depend on the government's assessment.

Today, the European Commission's main goal is to connect Eastern European schools to this platform. The eTwinning portal, initiated by the European Commission, is a virtual area for school partners' meetings.
