Azerbaijani state structures have made their additions to the final document regulating the mobile phone IMEI-code registration procedures in Azerbaijan, RCom head Seymur Mammadov told Trend on Tuesday.
Mammadov said the main amendments touched on procedural issues, some of which have been brought into line with accepted regulations and legislative acts.
"For example, the Customs Committee, revealing that some of the proposed registration procedures are contrary to the Customs Code, has made its amendments. This also applies to other structures agreed on a number of other moments," Mammadov said.
After completing work on the coordination of all the items of the final document, it should be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, after which it comes into force.
The database will be supplemented by ?ME? codes of mobile phones, which will be imported into Azerbaijan. Registration will be done via the customs authorities, as well as through connecting to the operator network.
The new system will more effectively combat both the theft and the illegal importation of mobile phones into the country. After the formation of the database, data about the state of the mobile phone market will be available.
