Azerbaijan, Baku, June 24 / Trend H. Valiyev /

Reducing international channel costs for Internet providers in Azerbaijan can lead to a decrease in the cost of their services to end users, Delta Telecom Director Ramazan Valiyev told Trend.

He added that it will mainly affect those who use large amounts of traffic.

It is possible to feel a significant difference in the cost of broadband Internet access from 2 Mbit / s to 10 Mbit / s or more.

It is impossible to talk about reducing the cost of traffic at 1Mbit / s, which today is 20 manat.

The reason is the fixed cost (13 manat) of the volume of traffic for providers.

Moreover, providers must also take into account the costs they will bear in case of the network failure.

Unfortunately, the copper infrastructure of the telephone network today is not at a proper level, he said.
"Therefore, there are problems with the access to the Internet. This is the reason that Internet providers use only a third of the existing traffic, that is, 20 Gbit / s of the existing 60 Gbit / s," he added.

Using new technologies by providers is the way out of this situation.

They must increase investment to implement them.

"We are ready to bring the cable to the building," he said. "A provider must implement the further process, that is, to bring the cable to the end user. If providers use the technology, the cost of their services will decrease."

Today, providers do not feel the lack of traffic volumes. All the necessary opportunities were created to increase them.
