ULTRA company was awarded with the decree of honour of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic for creating and maintaining security "Еurovision 2012" song contest portal. The decree was handed to the general director of ULTRA company Zaur Mamedzade by Ali Abbasov the minister of Communications and Information Technologies.
Since the launch of www.eurovision.az portal, ULTRA company is engaged in its technical support from 25 January 2012 up to now. During "Eurovision 2012" all news, photo and video materials were added to the portal by the special working group assembled from the employees of ULTRA company. "Еurovision 2012" portal includes the information in Azerbaijani and English languages. As initially the multi-language method was used in the development of the portal, then you can connect the additional languages to it at any time.
The portal includes the latest news related to preparation and conduction of the contest, as well as the press releases from the various events dedicated to "Еurovision 2012" . You can get information about Azerbaijan and Baku where the event is held in. Due to the section of "360 view" you can take a virtual tour of the capital.
Three versions of portal were developed: for personal computers, tablet devices and mobile version. Having the multiple versions of the portal, it provides the device in use to load the optimal mode automatically and it makes the navigation of the portal more comfortable.
Either local and foreign specialists were involved to the development of the portal. The foundation of the portal (CMS) was written from the ground up without using the templates All components of the portal have been developed for this project especially and they have never been used before. Special attention was paid to the security and the fault-tolerance of the portal. In compliance with the requirements for safety and reliability the foreign auditing companies were involved. The special room was separated in the office of ULTRA company for the monitoring of the portal and controlling of the servers condition.
Since the launch of "Eurovision 2012" portal to date, the portal is used with great interest in many countries of the world. During "Eurovision 2012" song contest there were placed on record more than 40 million users visits to the portal. The main influx of the visitors was registered from CIS countries, Turkey, Germany and Ukraine.
From the date of "Eurovision 2012" portal's exploitation it was constantly attacked, but none of them could affect the working efficiency of the portal. Using the seven data centers located in the various points of the world, the portal had the function of the users' geographical distribution.
Thanks to round the clock monitoring of the portal and the special filtration system of portal's users, "Eurovision-2012" portal withstood the pressures of the attacks.
