Azerbaijani minister: Information security problems to be reviewed to coordinate combat efforts

Discussing the problems of information security within the seventh Global Internet Governance Forum, it is essential to coordinate efforts to combat this undesirable phenomenon, Azerbaijani Communication and IT Minister Ali Abbasov said at the meeting today.
He said that combating cybercrime becomes relevant in terms of using the e-services and the creation of an electronic government.
Abbasov added that Azerbaijan works to introduce electronic government with services available to the population.
The minister also made reference to the work to develop the telecommunication infrastructure and to expand using information technologies.
He added that the territory of the republic has been covered by 3G. Operations are underway to use 4G. Social networks are widespread in Azerbaijan and online TV and internet resources are being developed.
