Azerbaijan and Iraq will jointly fight against illegal activities of telecommunications operators in Azerbaijan's occupied territories.
The protocol signed at the first meeting of the Azerbaijani-Iraqi intergovernmental commission on cooperation in trade, economy, technology, education and agriculture secured a corresponding agreement for this.
In addition, the Azerbaijani side proposed that Iraqi partners cooperate in the promotion of investments in the sphere of information and communication technologies, as well as in using the capabilities of Azerbaijani telecommunications satellite Azerspace-1.
The first meeting of the Azerbaijani-Iraqi intergovernmental commission on cooperation in trade, economy, technology, education and agriculture was held in Baku on Dec. 4.
The commission's protocol was signed by Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, Ali Abbasov and Iraqi Minister of State for Provincial Affairs - acting Minister for Communication, Torhan al-Mufti.
The next meeting of the intergovernmental commission will be held in Iraq.
