Turkish satellite Türksat 4A created by the Japanese Mitsubishi Electric Company and transferred to the country on January 8 has already been delivered to the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Turkish Zaman newspaper reported on Jan.17.

According to the publication, currently work is underway to prepare the satellite for launch.
The newspaper reported that the Türksat 4A satellite will be launched on February 15, 2014.
The Turkish first remote sensing satellite RASAT was launched in 2011.

Turkey launched its second satellite Göktürk- 2 from the Chinese Jiuquan base on December 18, 2012. The satellite is used for defence purposes.

The Türksat 5A satellite is expected to be used in 2016.
