AzScienceNet scientific computer network of the Institute of Information Technologies of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences will participate in the International Desktop Grid Federation - IDGF, the institute told Trend Dec. 16.
The memorandum includes AzScienceNet's joining IDGF and cooperation of the sides in the "cloud" and Grid-technologies. It was signed by the management of the Institute of Information Technologies and the Alexander Kharkevich Institute for Information Transmission Problems under the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Grid can be used both within an organization and unite the resources of volunteers from one city, country or the entire world.
IDGF is an organization uniting the employees of various companies, universities and research institutions interested in using this type of technology and sharing their experience.
The document, signed by the Institute of Information Technologies and the Russian Institute, includes the cooperation between the sides in the fields of research and joint implementation of projects, staff training, joint conferences and exchange of experience in creating supercomputers and the safe data processing in supercomputers.
