By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

Azerbaijani Sumaks IT-company has developed a ‘smart’ prosthetic hand, the company told Trend.

For the first time the prosthetic hand prototype was demonstrated in August 2016 as part of the opening of the ASAN Service Center in Azerbaijan’s Qabala district.

"The technologies used in the prosthesis development are not new,” the company said. “For example, the left hand prosthesis is capable of repeating the movements of the right one."

According to the company, the prosthetic hand has not been fully developed.

"Nevertheless, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which expressed its readiness to support the prosthetic hand development, is interested in it,” the company said. “The negotiations will begin soon."
