Azerbaijan reveals Cyber Security Center’s financing volume

The CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team) Cyber Security Center of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies received financing worth 217,000 manats in 2016, Azerbaijan’s Chamber of Accounts said in its conclusion regarding a report on execution of the state budget in 2016.

The report was submitted for discussion in the Azerbaijani Parliament.

Actual expenditures of the CERT amounted to 167,300 manats, including cash costs of 164,400 manats, which accounted for 75.5 percent of the allocated financing.

In general, 1.918 million manats were allocated for the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies from Azerbaijan’s 2016 state budget, and 1.608 million manats of this were spent.

A decree on ensuring the activity of the Cyber Security Center under the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan was signed by President Ilham Aliyev March 5, 2013.
