By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

Information and Computing Center (ICC) of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan has developed an e-platform for next generation IDs, the ICC told Trend Dec. 5.

The new platform, which will be available to all citizens of Azerbaijan, will make it possible to get acquainted with the information about IDs and the necessary software products for using the e-signature.

“The platform will make it possible to obtain comprehensive information, for example, regarding the operating systems where e-signature can be used, how it is applied, information about the drivers available to users will be provided,” the ICC said.

Users will also be able to change PIN code necessary for their e-signatures, get technical support, communicate on user forums and so on, the ICC noted.

The platform will be launched simultaneously with the start of issuance of new IDs. At present, a certification center for their issuance is being created and tested in Azerbaijan. The center will deal with integration of e-signature into the IDs.

It is planned that the center will be commissioned by the end of 2017, and the issuance of IDs to Azerbaijani citizens will start from January 1, 2018.
