Export of Azerbaijani satellite operator's services grows

The export volume of services of Azercosmos OJSC, the national satellite operator of Azerbaijan, in January-March 2018 amounted to $3.4 million, reads the "Export Review", published by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan on April 27.

In March, income of Azercosmos OJSC from the sale of satellite resources increased by 47.8 percent compared to February.

Azercosmos OJSC rendered services to 17 countries, including France, the UAE, Germany, Georgia, China, Egypt, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, the UK, Ukraine, Russia, Cyprus, South Africa, Tanzania, Lebanon, Iran and Poland.

Azercosmos OJSC operates geostationary satellite Azerspace-1 and low-altitude satellite Azersky.

Azerspace-1 was launched on Feb. 8, 2013. Its service area includes the countries of Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa.

The Azersky satellite was handed over to Azerbaijan in line with an agreement inked Dec. 2, 2014 at the BakuTel exhibition by Azercosmos OJSC and the French Airbus Defence and Space company.
