Uzbekistan, Turkey to cooperate in field of nanotechnology

Minister of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurakhmanov and representative of the Council for Scientific and Technological Research of Turkey (TUBITAK) signed an agreement on cooperation in various fields of science and technology on April 30, the press service of the Uzbek ministry said in a statement.

According to the information, the agreement was achieved during the state visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Uzbekistan.

Scientific and technical cooperation implies the exchange of research projects, scientists, specialists, researchers and research results. Joint scientific research and continuous exchange of information will also be carried out.

The parties agreed on organizing joint scientific and technological events, including meetings, conferences, symposiums, courses, seminars and exhibitions. The joint use of research and production facilities, scientific equipment, and technology parks is expected as well.

Uzbekistan and Turkey agreed to carry out joint projects in such areas as natural sciences, industrial research, production, innovation, medicine and health, agriculture, social and human sciences.

The two countries also agreed on cooperation in research and innovation under the European Union Framework Programs. The agreement will create an opportunity for joint research in nanotechnology, genetic engineering and information technologies.
