By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

Application of a biometric signature to verify electronic documents is being considered in Azerbaijan, a source in the country's IT market told Trend.

The source said the technical realization of this and other innovative methods of signing e-documents is not very difficult.

The new method stipulates authentication based on the dynamics of handwriting signature. The method of biometric signature stipulates the use of a digitizer.

A person simulates a signature on the device screen, and the system reads the movement parameters and compares with the data entered into the database. When it coincides with the standard, the system attaches full information about the signer to the document to be signed.

A three-year e-signature costs 18 manats for Azerbaijani citizens, while for individuals and legal entities engaged in entrepreneurial activity the cost is 36 and 72 manats, respectively. The figure is 58 manats for employees of state agencies.

The e-signature simplifies access to the e-services of state organizations via the e-government portal at e-gov.az.
