The Institute of Information Technologies of Azerbaijan's National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has proposed a new method for identifying hidden social networks in the e-government environment, the institute told Trend.

The method, in which the tools of social network analysis, opinion mining and text mining is used, provides for the intersection of measures against state propaganda.

The method proposed by the institute provides for an analysis of the comments of individuals on documents placed in the e-government environment. And on the basis of these data, determining the level of attitudes towards them, which can be equated to hidden social networks.

Comments are initially analyzed, grouped and on their base, links between users who publish negative comments are identified.

"The method proposed by the institute can be used in any environment where data is generated, including popular social networks. For example, Facebook itself has thousands of hidden social networks and this company has quite good methods that allow it to analyze them with little effort. The method that we propose is one of the approaches existing in world practice," the institute said.
