Russia is ready to help Uzbekistan to create a national space communications system, Uzbek media reported.

An option of trilateral cooperation between Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on joint launch of a satellite was presented by a representative of Russia's Roscosmos state corporation in Kazakhstan, Anatoly Krasnikov, at the Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Uzbekistan and Russia.

Kazakhstan's KazSat-2R will have to replace KazSat-2 in 2023. It is designed to provide broadcasting, telephony, data transmission, VSAT networking, multimedia and mobile services.

According to Roscosmos, its service area is planned to cover the entire territory of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the central part of Russia and other countries of Central Asia.

"What option for interaction can we pick? A payload from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will be mounted on a platform that is being made in Krasnoyarsk," Krasnikov said.
