Uzbekistan’s TezCard has introduced a modern automated fare collection (AFC) system in public transport of Fergana (Uzbekistan), the company announced.

“The TezCard system is an innovative and modern solution for prompt and convenient payment for public transport, which has greatly simplified payment procedures and solved problems related to the payment and accounting of passengers” the announcement read.

The fare payment procedure is simplified to the maximum, for the convenience of passengers. It is enough to attach a TezCard card to a special terminal (validator). In a matter of seconds, information is exchanged with the terminal, resulting in funds being debited from the card account. After the payment, a receipt is printed on the terminal to confirm the operation. This receipt is recommended to be kept until the end of the trip.

Previously, this system has already been launched in Samarkand city of Uzbekistan.

Among the advantages of the AFC system are reduced time for settlements with passengers, increasing growth of fundraising, increasing transparency of all operations, the possibility of collecting statistical data.

It is planned to launch the replenishment of cards through various payment systems in the near future, which will significantly increase the convenience and efficiency of using this type of payment.
