Tehran, Iran, March 23

Trend:

The US sanctions have limited the Iranian Information and communication technology (ICT) companies’ access to software services, head of Iran union for software producers and exporters Mohammadreza Talaei said.

He recalled that recently, Apple has cut off Iran from the App store, Trend reports citing ILNA.

The sanctions have limited most of the active Iranian ICT companies, said Talaei.

Referring to the industrial situation in the past Iranian year (started March 21, 2018) he said that the government made decisions over various issues and its numerous regulations created problems for most of economic spheres in the country and ICT as well.

"The foreign currency and customs regulations have hit the high tech and knowledge-based sector the most and lack of specific road map for the country's ICT development caused challenges during the last year,” he said.

Talaei pointed out that there should be joint plan between ICT, Ministry of Culture and Guidance and Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade to confront challenges in new Iranian year (started March 21, 2019).

Today ICT is the moving engine of the economy in the world and ignoring it would damage Iran’s economy, he added.
