It is planned to organize a commercial launch of the 5G network in the capital of Uzbekistan Tashkent in 2020, Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov stated at the VIII Moscow International Forum "Open Innovations" in Russia, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

According to him, by the end of 2020, all social facilities in Uzbekistan, including schools, preschool and medical institutions comprising more than 20,000 facilities, will be provided with broadband Internet access.

"This year, Uzbekistan has successfully completed testing of the 5G mobile network, and we set ourselves the task of organizing a commercial launch of the network in Tashkent next year," the prime minister said.

In September this year, two state-owned cellular companies, Uzmobile and Ucell, announced at once the beginning of testing of 5G networks in Uzbekistan. The strategic partner in the deployment of fifth-generation networks is China's Huawei.

The Moscow international forum of innovative development "Open Innovations" is taking place at the site of the Skolkovo technology park. It has been held annually since 2012. It is expected that this forum will be visited by more than 600 speakers from 90 countries, including the USA, Great Britain, China, Japan, France and Germany.
