Turkmenistan expands cellular network in rural area

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, Dec. 30

Turkmenistan's national cellular operator Altyn Asyr (TM Cell) plans to expand its network coverage, Trend reports referring to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

TM Cell is planning to expand the coverage of 3G in rural localities, 4G in provincial centers and introduce 5G in the near future.

The operator plans to install 50 stations that will provide access to high-speed internet in the villages and cities of the Ahal region.

The installation of equipment with advanced capabilities has started in the Baherden, Gokdepe, Ak Bugday, Tejen, Sarahs, Babadayhan and Kaka districts of Ahal region.

About 30 units of 3G equipment will be installed in the rural areas of Mary region, including Turkmen-Kala, Serhetabat, Tagtabazar, Sakarchage, Murgap and Garagum districts.

Villages of Wekilbazar, Mary and Yolotan districts were connected to high-speed internet in mid-December 2019.
