Iran-Pakistan joint economic commission starts ICT cooperation

Iran-Pakistan joint economic commission has started its work, representative of Iran's Telecommunication Infrastructure Company Sajjad Bonabi said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) working group in the Iran-Pakistan joint economic commission has started its activities," Bonabi added.

"The target of this working group is to increase infrastructure, regulations, scientific and aerospace cooperation between the two countries. It has started its work in Islamabad and is co-chaired by Iran's Deputy ICT Minister and his Pakistani counterpart," the company representative said.

"The main agenda of Iran's Ministry of Information and Communications Technology is to deepen Iran's cooperation with neighbor countries, as digital economy shares 10 percent of Iran's total economy," he added.

According to the official, Iran's cooperation with Azerbaijan in the ICT field is growing.

As was reported earlier, during a meeting of Iran-Turkey joint economic commission, Iran's efforts to move toward digital economy were discussed.
