Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov met with CEO of the National Agency for Cyber Security of Malaysia (NACSA) Shah Nuri bin Mohamed Zain in Kuala Lumpur, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

Malaysia is one of the world's leading countries in the protection of systems, networks and software applications in cyberspace. According to the Global Cyber Security Index of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the country ranks 8th in the world among 175 countries and 2nd in the Asia-Pacific region after Singapore.

During the meeting, CEO of NACSA highly appreciated the measures undertaken in Uzbekistan in this direction. He underlined the fact that the country has managed to improve its position in the global ranking of the ITU and rise from 93rd to 52nd place within a very short period of time.

Zain noted the importance and urgency of development of this sphere against the backdrop of ongoing reforms in the country on introduction of e-government, online banking and finance, digital economy and others.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to consider the possibility of establishing cooperation between NACSA and relevant ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan through the signing of bilateral documents, organization of mutual visits, exchange of best practices and arranging training courses to improve the skills of Uzbek IT-specialists.
