Turkmenistan’s Turkmenpost company has established a network structure of its post offices around the country, Trend reports with reference to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
Thanks to the new network, electronic money transfer service became possible in Turkmenistan.
Turkmenpost website allows to buy goods, through credit card payment, along with delivering goods to the specified address.
Meanwhile, a number of post offices in Turkmenistan have established the sale of railway tickets. Work is underway to expand such opportunities in the country's regions and districts.
The work on creation of network structures was carried out as part of Turkmenistan's transition to digital economy. Previously Turkmenistan approved the concept for development of digital economy in 2019-2025 at government level on November 30, 2018.
Turkmenpost Postal Service Company has been operating since April 1993. This is state’s postal operator. The company became a member of the universal postal Union on January 26, 1993.
There are branches of this company in all parts of Turkmenistan. Turkmenpost Postal Service Company employs over 2,000 people.
