Azerbaijan’s Sumaks Technologies company has begun implementing projects in the public sector since the beginning of 2020, Executive Director of the company Javid Mammadov told Trend.
In early March 2020, the company began the development of several devices before the introduction of a special quarantine regime amid the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), noted Mammadov.
“During the pandemic, even before the announcement of the quarantine regime and given the situation, Sumaks Technologies launched the production of artificial lung ventilation (ALV) apparatuses. At the initial stage, it was planned to develop an apparatus that would meet the minimum requirements and could be applied in a critical situation. Two different samples of such apparatuses were created and provided to the Ministry of Health,” the executive director said.
He noted that the apparatuses were developed with the support of local doctors.
“This was not a professional appliance, as it was designed urgently within a month and ready in mid-April. Then the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) sent us recommendations to increase the functionality of the device, which requires more time and serious resources. In this regard, we also put forward our proposals,” Mammadov noted.
“The company also introduced a device for monitoring social distance. It is intended for the employees of government agencies, catering facilities, factories and other structures where violation of social distance is most likely,” the director said.
“Due to the softening of the special quarantine regime in the country, the number of cases of social contact between people is also increasing. A device equipped with special sensors instantly signals when there is a violation of the established social distance of two meters. In the near future, this device will be offered to various organizations,” he said.
In connection with the pandemic situation, Sumaks Technologies also began the development of a disinfectant under the ‘Benovshayi’ (Violet) brand, said the executive director.
“It can disinfect banknotes, wallet, keys, watches and other accessories. For disinfection, the items are placed in this unit and the time is set. The device emits ultraviolet rays, which are used for disinfection in medicine," he added.
Mammadov said that the company began developing the second version of Benovshayi, which is designed to disinfect escalator handrails.
For example, these special disinfecting devices can be installed at escalators at stations and in the passages of the Baku Metro, the director noted.
“As said, the disinfection is carried out using ultraviolet rays. Moving handrails of the escalator will be disinfected, periodically passing through the device. It is expected that at first, this device will be implemented in the ASAN Service centers, and then it will be offered to other structures,” Mammadov added.
In 2020, the company continues to work on a number of projects and equipment manufactured by the company are used in various fields.
