Digital technologies to expand in Uzbekistan's Tashkent schools

Online health monitoring systems will be implemented in preschool educational organizations of Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications.

The Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications held an online meeting with specialists from six ministries and departments to discuss the implementation of projects for the widespread introduction of digital technologies in the city of Tashkent.

Representatives of the Ministry of Preschool Education and the administration of Tashkent city reported that today, based on the Education Management Information System (OpenEMIS), together with UNICEF, work is underway to introduce an online monitoring system for the health of children in preschool educational organizations.

Innovation Center for Information and Pedagogical Technologies of the Ministry of Preschool Education, in cooperation with Aloqabank JSC and other partners, is working on the implementation of a billing system for online payments and billing.

The Ministry of Public Education and the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, the administration of Tashkent city work on implementing a project aimed at registering student training, generating statistics, and reports on teachers' activities.

The project of the Unified electronic and hardware-software complex for monitoring the attendance of students in secondary schools was introduced on an experimental basis. To date, the corresponding technical equipment has been installed in 37 secondary schools in Tashkent.

Also, the ministries noted the implementation of the project of the distance education system in higher educational institutions of the city of Tashkent. Currently, 117 higher education institutions across the country (96 of which are state-owned) are connected to the Internet via fiber-optic lines.

In connection with the transition to the online mode of higher education, more than 20 educational sites and resources of the ZiyoNET network will be available free of charge. A special tariff plan Ta'lim (training) has been introduced for teachers and distance learning coaches, which allows using mobile services on favorable terms. Currently, it is planned to add additional benefits to this tariff plan.
