Center for agroindustry digitalization created in Uzbekistan

A state institution Center for digitalization of agro-industry was created under the Ministry of Agriculture according to the government decree on measures to develop a digitalization system in the agro-industrial complex and agriculture of Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the ministry.

The center functions as an organization responsible for maintaining the digital agriculture information system in the agro-industrial complex.

According to the decree, the Ministry of Agriculture, in agreement with the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, is empowered to establish the rules for providing information in the field of agroindustry and food to an integrated unified information system.

A pilot project will be implemented to automate large hydrosystems and irrigation systems based on digital technologies by May 1, 2021.

In addition, innovative organizations will be created at the Tashkent Agrarian University and the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in order to support student business start-up projects in the agricultural sector.

Also, the Address List for the implementation of smart agriculture technologies in the regions of the republic in 2021 has been approved.
