OPEN NET internet project to continue in Georgia - PM

The universal OPEN NET internet project will continue in Georgian Kobuleti city, said the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili, Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to him, in a few years, the project will be implemented in 1,000 settlements and up to 500,000 people will have access to the Internet.

“A universal project to provide residents with the Internet will be implemented in all regions of Georgia. The OPEN NET project will continue in Kobuleti, and in a few years, the project will cover about 1,000 settlements, including mountain villages. The Internet will be available to about half a million people. citizens ", said Garibashvili.

He thanked the World Bank for its assistance in the implementation of the project.

Meanwhile, the pilot project of universal internet was implemented by the state NNLE OPEN NET in Ozurgeti, as a result of which 29,000 citizens have access to the Internet in 49 settlements. The project is funded by the World Bank within the project Log In Georgia.
