Aztelecom LLC under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan, is carrying out important construction work on a new digital infrastructure in Azerbaijani regions, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend.
The work includes implementing of information and communication through modern technologies, as well as on deployment of a new generation network and the implementation of projects to ensure sustainable, safe and high-quality use of information and telecommunication services by citizens.
The introduction of GPON (Gigabyte Passive Optical Network) technology continues in Azerbaijani regions.
"Modern equipment allows users to use telephone services, IPTV, Internet and a number of other services through a single optical line. Within the framework of the project, work to meet the growing demand for telecommunications services, expand the coverage area, and the range of provided services, is underway. Work is being carried out on the reconstruction of the existing network," the Ministry said.
The number of users in the company's service area is also increasing due to the reconstruction of the infrastructure.
"The data transfer speed for all subscribers receiving services via ADSL technology has been increased, and the monthly subscription fee has been reduced. This means creating better conditions for using the Internet and transmitting data at a higher speed," the Ministry noted.
