Azerbaijani startups, companies reach several agreements at ‘TEKNOFEST’ in Turkey

Azerbaijani startups and technology companies have reached a number of agreements within the ‘TEKNOFEST’ aerospace and technology festival in Istanbul (Turkey), the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend.

The ministry noted that ten startups and technology companies were represented at the festival from the Azerbaijani side.

“Our startups have covered such areas and directions as space industry, military industry, education, medicine, agriculture, transportation, video games," said the ministry.

"One of the resident startups of the Innovation Agency under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies has attracted the attention of investors. Consequently, the startup ‘Udar’ (a comprehensive training device based on virtual reality) signed an agreement with Fix Defense to produce simulators. An agreement was also reached with Baykar company to integrate drones into the startup's system,” the ministry said.

The ministry added that one of the founders of the startup received an invitation from the Istanbul Technical University and Zonguldak University named after Bulent Ecevit for teaching students the design and assembly of small satellites.

According to the ministry, during the festival, the pavilion of Azerbaijan was visited by more than 40,000 participants.

Since 2018, the ‘TEKNOFEST’ festival has been held annually in partnership with more than 60 government institutions, universities and private companies in Turkey.
