BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. A number of Azerbaijan’s government entities and organizations are developing a document on the country’s national strategy in the field of cybersecurity and information, Rashad Bayramov, advisor to the minister of digital development and transport, told Trend.

According to Bayramov, the entities and organizations include the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the State Electronic Protection Service, the State Security Service, and a number of other structures.

He said that the document will cover all issues related to cybersecurity.

"The adoption of this document is very important in terms of upgrading the rating of Azerbaijan in the field of cybersecurity. It reflects a number of criteria used by international structures to assess the resistance of a country to cyberattacks,” the advisor noted. “One of the elements of this rating is the existence of a national cybersecurity strategy. The document is now under consideration by the relevant authorities. Its adoption is also very important for determining the long-term strategy of the state.”

Moreover, according to him, this document will allow present Azerbaijan's real position abroad and on international platforms as a country whose attitude to cybersecurity is absolutely clear and aimed at increasing its rating.

"In 2020, Azerbaijan rose by 15 positions in the cybersecurity rating, but the rating is reviewed every two years, and adoption of this strategy is important to achieve even better performance," added Bayramov.
