The Baku Telephone Communications Production Association (PA) of the Communications and Information Technologies Ministry plans to apply new NGN technology in the capital from September 2005. The preparations are currently being carried out in this direction, PA told Trend.
The Chinese Huawey Tech Investment, which signed an agreement month ago, implements the project. The appropriate devices will be supplied to the Baku Telephone Communication PA in a month. The technology will be applied on the base of telephone station -464, which will greatly impact on the improvement of the quality of the services.
The PA underlined that the tariffs on the services of NGN technology have been determined.
The technology is a universal multipurpose network, designed for transmission of speech, image and data through using packet switching. The NGN network provides the quality of service necessary for different kinds of telecommunications traffic.
After application of the technology in Baku the subscribers can use services both VoIP-telephony, voice mail, IP-Centrex governed ATS, data transmission, multimedia services, virtual private networks, unified exchange of messages, immediate exchange of messages, interactive speech reply system, contact-center, interactive games, videoconference and home manager.
