CATEL EXTENDS WIRELESS COMMUNICATION IN REGIONS OF AZERBAIJAN

The Azerbaijani-American Joint Venture (JV) Catel (Caspian American Telecommunications, LLC) carries out works on extending the wireless communication in the regions of Azerbaijan.

For the moment preparatory works for establishing the network in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic (NAR) are underway, the JV executive director Sadig Gumbatov told Trend.

According to him, the measures on extending the communication have already commenced in the regions. Thus, the first wireless base stations are installed in Gyanja and Nabran.

In future similar works will be implemented in the direction Baku-Gyanja (Gadjikabul, Kyurdemir, Evlakh, Geranboy) and Gyanja вЂ"Agstafa (Shemkir, Tovuz, Gazah, Gedabek). The same time the stations will be installed in such regions as Hachmaz, Guba and Gusar.

The investments in the amount of $10 million for implementation of the above-mentioned measures will be allocated to the enterprise by the US government agency OPД°C (Overseas Private Д°nvestment Corporation).
