“Azerpocht will function at 1.6m manats loss in 2006,” Ali Abbasov, the Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Minister, said to the Parliment on Thursday, Trend reposts.
According to Abbasov, there are 4,000 employees at Azerpocht. Salary of 1,200 employees is lower the minimum wages. 45% of the profit of Azerpocht falls to telecommunications.
The minister noted that he sent a letter to the President’s Apparat, the Cabinet of Ministers and Milli Majlis (Parliament) to solve the problems. “The analysis shows that establishment and development of free economic zone of information product and product of electronic equipment is possible in Azerbaijan,” he stressed.
Abbasov said that Azerpocht need 1.6m manats to be allotted from the public budget for 2006 in order not to face with similar problems.
