Catel JV performs works on introduction of CDMA EV-DO

The Azerbaijan - American Catel Joint Venture (JV), (Caspian American Telecommunications, LLC) implements for the first time in Azerbaijan works on introduction of the new CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) EV-DO technology. To this end, suppliers of the euqipment and representatives of the QUALCOMM company have been invited, JV told Trend. Exactly this company has introduced for the first time the CDMA technology (Code Division Multiple Access the system of the multiple access with the code division), a digital wireless technology, developed later by GSM.

CDMA EV-DO converts the speech into digital data, which later is re-transmitted as the radio signal via the wireless network. CDMA, representyed for the first time as the commercial product in 1995 is one of the rapidly extending wireless technologies in the world. In 1999 the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) selected CDMA as the industrial standard for new wireless systems of the third generation" (3G).

Introduction of CDMA EV-DO is scheduled during the first quarter of 2006, teh company noted.

The CDMA EV-DO technology provides data transmission with the speed of up to 2,4 Mbit/s. Advantages of the V-DO specification open quite new opportunities for users. In particular, it is a quick connection to Internet, arrangement of the high-speed corporative VPN-connection, a wide range of multi-media services. Besides, arrangement of video-conferences is also possible in the EV-DO networks.

JV is currently perform services of the CDMA 2000x technology and commissioning of various technological novelties is planned in the nearest future.
