Int'l Techno-park conference in Baku postponed to summer

An international techno-park conference to be held in Baku by the Ministry of Communications and Informational Technologies has been postponed to summer. The head of scientific potential center of the department for the strategic planning of the Ministry of Information, Rufat Gulmammadov, said originally scheduled for the first half of May conference was postponed to the end of July-beginning of August.

The reasons for delay were the organizational work for the international conference, which requires meticulous and careful planning, he said. 15 foreign countries including India, Italy, Iran, Turkey, France, CIS countries, Baltic States have been invited by the ministry to participate in the conference.

The major goal of the conference is to assist in the exchange of relevant experience among experts from countries that already have Tecno-parks and use this experience in building similar facilities in Azerbaijan.

According to the State program on development of informational-communicational technology in Azerbaijan in 2005- 2008, Techno parks are planned to be build by the year 2008.

Techno- parks are territories urbanized in accordance with the modern standards and that compactly embed industrial objects, business-incubator, scientific-research and construction companies, business and exhibition centers, customs terminals and a number of subsidiary objects.
