Information Technologies Institute (ITI) is performing operations for Baku subway. ITI officials told Trend the subways controlling office shall be automated.

The Institute was established based on Automatic Control Systems Department with Cybernetics Institute of National Academy of Sciences, founded in 1972. Starting 1982, Automatic Control Systems Department operates as an independent legal entity. Information-Telecommunication Center has been established from said department in 1997. And May 21, 2002 Information Technologies Institute was established. ITI activities include informatization in various spheres based on new technologies, creation of intellectual computer networks and systems, as well as ensuring information security.
