The Ministry of communication and IT of Azerbaijan is performing operations for automation of Azerpocht head office within Financial services development project implemented jointly with the World Bank, Azerpocht officials told Trend.
Upon completion of construction operations, the equipment will be purchased on the tender basis.

The main component of said project is Azerbaijans mail network modernization resulting in Azerpochts inclusion in national payment system for financial and banking service provision.
The enterprise is suggested to start providing financial and banking services yet in 2007.
The total cost of the project is $17.5mln, from which $12.25mln is WBs credit and the rest Azeri governments funds.
