Azeri students participate in Hewlett-Packard Global Business Challenge

The Azerbaijani students participate in the international Hewlett-Packard Global Business Challenge. Junior Achievement Azerbaijan (JAA) will host an event dedicated to the successful participation of Azerbaijani students in the international Hewlett-Packard Global Business Challenge in the Nasimi Room of the Park Inn Hotel on Tuesday, July 25, 2006, the U.S. embassy in Baku told Trend. The Azerbaijani students are part of the School Economic Education Program that is supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by JAA in Azerbaijan.

Junior Achievement Azerbaijan (JAA) is the local representative of Junior Achievement Worldwide, the worlds largest non-profit organization, involved in economic and business education in schools. JAA has worked in 180 schools throughout Azerbaijan since 2000. Annually JAA provides 150 students with the opportunity to participate in the Hewlett Packard Global Business Challenge, which is an international online competition to solve economic problems.

This year along with seven other teams from Estonia, Canada, Russia, Ukraine and China, Azerbaijani teams advanced to the contests finals, besting more than 1000 teams from 68 nations. Junior Achievement will sponsor the students travel to the United States in August, 2006 to participate in the finals.
