Place for Azeri satellite in orbit to be defined Azeri minister for communications

Talks on definition of the place for Azerbaijani satellite in the orbit, which will be launched in 2008, are underway, Trend reports citing Ali Abbasov, the Azerbaijani Minister for Communications and Information Technologies as stating to local television channel ANS.

Approximate amount of investments to be put in the project is $80m. The expenses for exploitation of the satellite, to function for 15 years, will be reimbursed in 3-5 years.

At present Azerbaijan uses Turkish and European satellites. Moreover, Kazakhstan proposed Azerbaijan to use their satellite which has been recently launched into the air.
