Cisco Systems Corporation is interested in expanding its business in Azerbaijan. The company intends to participate in the project to establish special economic zones on the development of high technology. The Cisco Systems President for Developing Markets, Pole Montford, said that during his visit to Baku to attend the international telecommunications exhibition BakuTel 200, the delegation discussed the implementation of concrete projects.
The Corporation initiated the establishment of a regional center for education of engineers under the regional innovation center which will be established as part of the special economic zone.
Another proposal by the Company is the technology project Next Generation Network in Azerbaijan.
According to the specialist, Cisco is ready to render consultations to Azerbaijan with regards to projects on Egovernment.
At present a memorandum on Co-operation between the Ministry of Communications & Information Technologies and Cisco Systems is underway.
